Canada’s Disturbing Stance on Accident Prevention

Sometimes we see PSA’s on TV that are meant to improve our day to day lives. There are commercials for stopping domestic abuse or drinking more milk. These are just some of the PSA commercials that we see here in the Unites States. But in Canada there is a bigger problem to address… accidents in the workplace. That’s right. The Workplace Safety and Insurance Board along with Ontario Health and Safety Partners have had a campaign running for a few years now which is meant to spread one simple message: There Are No Accidents.

“The WSIB knows that the workplace is one of the most important places in our lives. It is a place for growth, for challenge and for fun. But it can also be a dangerous place. We want to make everyone aware of the dangers and issues surrounding workplace safety. Explore this site for the information, tools and inspiration you need to prevent-it. And always remember, there really are no accidents.”

It may seem silly, but workplace safety awareness just might be something we are missing here in the U.S.
